Profile

The Southern Maryland Tri-County Chapter is one of the newest chapters of EWGA.  Since 2003, we have served the Southern Maryland women golf community which encompasses three counties, Prince Georges County, Charles County, and St. Mary County.  Our organization has provided free golf workshops, weekly golf leagues, educational clinics, business networking opportunities, and social events which have included out of town travel. 

The chapter has a growing membership of 35 professional and business women most of whom are residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland.  Prince George’s County is located north, east, and south of Washington, D.C.  Prince George’s County has a population approaching 900,000 and is the wealthiest county in the nation with an African American majority in the United States.

The Southern Maryland chapter hosts golf clinics, weekly golf leagues, golf tournaments, and partners with the First Tee Program.  The year our Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Andrews Air Force Base to benefit the Capitol Breast Care Center.   Members have participated in local and regional golf championships.  Annually, the chapter host golf events at out of town locations.  From 2007 - 2009, the chapter hosted a three day golf event at Pinehurst, North Carolina.  In October 2010 we plan to host a fall outing. However, a decision on a location has not been made.
